Time to Lead: Women in STEM Forge the Way
October 19, 2020 | 5 – 6 p.m. ET
Registration for this event is now closed.
Women in STEM fields are increasingly emerging as college and university leaders of note, from department chairs and center directors to deans, provosts and presidents. In this conversation, panelists will share their experiences in preparing for and achieving leadership roles, as well as some of the barriers women must be prepared to confront. Are there patterns of particular note for women leaders in the STEM fields? How are women leaders able to navigate obstacles that hinder progress, balance competing priorities and find success for themselves, their teams and their institutions?
Our panelists will share how they have used their diverse experiences to construct their leadership philosophy and approach and offer insight into other factors that may influence the advancement of female leaders with STEM backgrounds, both in STEM-related leadership and more broadly within the academy as a whole. Attendees will leave the session with practical advice including how to assess their readiness, approach the search for their next role and present their candidacy – including framing their accomplishments and developing their leadership narrative.
Please note that this professional development opportunity is being offered as a service, free of charge.
